China market: Xiaomi to launch inexpensive smartphone

China-based smartphone vendor Xiaomi Technology on July 31 unveiled the Hongmi smartphone for sale by China Mobile in the China market at a contract-free retail price of CNY799 (US$130) beginning August 12, according to the company.
