MediaTek held a Dimensity product launch event in Beijing, China, on the 23rd, with Xiaomi executives attending as partners and Vivo and Oppo showing support through videos. Xiaomi's subsidiary Redmi will launch the Turbo 4 in 2025, becoming the first partner with MediaTek to introduce the Dimensity 8400 chipset in their products.

Xiaomi Group President Wei-bing Lu stated that 2024 is the year for Xiaomi's high-end products to break through, with 43% sales growth of high-end smartphones. However, Lu did not explain the term "high-end smartphones" in detail but mentioned that Xiaomi has the cornerstone for pricing products ranging from CNY4,000 to 6,000 (approx. US$548 to 822) in the market and aims to continue expanding into the CNY6,000+ market.

Looking ahead to 2025, Lu indicated that Redmi will be advanced, with the flagship model K series. As the K series moves towards a "champion flagship" position, the Turbo model will complement the past K series in the market, positioning it as a "performance-focused sub-flagship."

Compared to Xiaomi, Redmi offers more affordable options and is marketed as "a tech brand built for young people." According to official Xiaomi data, over the past 11 years, Redmi has sold more than 1.1 billion units, shipping to 105 countries.

Lu emphasized that Redmi has a close partnership with MediaTek, with the Dimensity 8000 and 9000 chips complementing each other. The combination of Redmi and Dimensity 8000 alone has reached shipments of over 30 million units. He is confident that the launch of the Turbo 4 with Dimensity 8400 in 2025 will also yield positive.

Redmi General Manager Teng Wang stated that since MediaTek released its first Dimensity product in 2019, Redmi has been a major partner, proudly claiming that, "Redmi determines the adjustment for Dimensity."

Wang pointed out that the recently launched K7 Supreme Edition, priced at CNY$2,599, has sold pretty well and has not seen any price discounts, even facing slight stock shortages. Wang further mentioned that he privately shared with MediaTek executives that Redmi had "underestimated" the potential of Dimensity.

Additionally, in the second half of 2023, Xiaomi proposed its "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem. Its electric vehicle (EV) business, specifically the SU7, draws great attention. Lu noted that under this strategy, Xiaomi has already shipped over 700 million MediaTek chips.
