Samsung Electronics is preparing to unveil its latest products at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for January 2025. This event is set to feature the launch of the flagship Galaxy S25 smartphone series, along with the introduction of new devices like the Galaxy Ring 2 and augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, which will be integral to the expanding Galaxy AI ecosystem.

According to Korean news outlets, including the Financial News, the Galaxy S25 series will be announced on January 22, 2025. Key features of the Galaxy S25 include an AI Agent that provides personalized clothing suggestions and transport information, utilizing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite processor for enhanced AI capabilities.

The Galaxy Ring 2 not only retains its predecessor's nine size options but also introduces two new sizes to compete with Oura, a competitor in the smart ring market. Enhancements include more accurate health data sensors and improved AI functionalities, with a battery life anticipated to exceed seven days.

Since its founding in 2013, Oura has sold more than 2.5 million smart rings. In October 2024, the company introduced the Oura Ring 4, which offers sizes ranging from 4 to 15, providing a broader range of options than Samsung's Galaxy Ring.

Meanwhile, the anticipated Galaxy Ring 2 is set to update its sensors to improve the accuracy of health data measurements and introduce new AI-related features. The battery life, though subject to variation based on ring size, is expected to last more than seven days.

However, Samsung has kept much about its AR smart glasses under wraps, but they are anticipated to be showcased at the upcoming Unpacked event. Rumored to resemble conventional eyewear with a weight of approximately 50 grams, these glasses are being developed in collaboration with Qualcomm and Google. They are set to feature advanced chips and the new AI model, Gemini.

Currently, the smart glasses market is dominated by Meta, yet it is expected to see intensified competition as companies such as Apple, Huawei, and Xiaomi plan to enter the scene in 2025.
