Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) has kicked off mass production of 128-layer 3D NAND flash memory for a home-grown SSD series, according to industry sources.
YMTC has started shipping 128-layer 3D NAND flash chips for Asgard's new PCEIe 4.0 SSD lineup, said the sources, adding that Asgard is a memory module maker owned by Shenzhen-based Powev Electronic Technology.
Asgard's new high-end SSDs incorporating YMTC's 128-layer 3D TLC NAND chips will be available in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB of storage, with the 1TB version set to first hit market shelves in early August, the sources said.
